Anyone have one like this make it?

Thank you everyone. I went to pickup food, ate and checked on her and she had passed. Clear bubbly liquid had come out her beak. I hope the water I gave didn't do it. This entire hatch sucked so bad.
:hugs
I'm sorry.

You have to be extremely careful when giving chicks anything straight to the beak.
One drop down the wrong pipe can kill them alithough I doubt that is what happen.

Sometimes they hatch like that because they just aren't meant to be.

Thank you. I was worried about that and tried to stay to the very tip. Lessons learned all around this time for sure. I appreciate your help.

Just a quick opinion... I would never ever ever give a newborn any water, sugar water or food for the first 36-48 hours.. I certainly wouldnt tube or dropper it into their mouth.. Yes, if thats what you did, most likely it aspirated the fluid and died.. Not trying to be mean but want it to be said... Anyone hatching eggs needs to know that no matter what, these babies do not need extra nutrients.. Especially if the sac as your chicks situation, was getting smaller.. It was obviously getting absorbed.. Again, im not meaning to be rude, i just feel it needs to be said. Learn and grow.. Thats why we are here..

Not rude, what I needed to hear. I realized after that is probably what happened and I messed up. It was my 3rd hatch but first gone wrong and lots of lessons learned for sure. Thank you I will take any information I can get.

How are the rest of the babies doing?

The 7 I had left were doing great until I got home from work yesterday and one had died. It hatched a tad early too and still had a little red pouch sticking out. I'm not sure if that was why. The other 6 went to their new home yesterday and she will keep me posted how they are doing.

I just looked, water or no water that one wouldn't have made it.
That isn't yolk, it is a defect and would have never fully corrected itself. It would have seemed to but at the first intense peep it would have been back out.

Thank you for the confirmation. I'm going to take a little break from hatching. I sterilized everything just in case it was bacteria. I'll never try refrigerated eggs again. Only 5 weren't and who knows if those are the ones that made it.

Hello sorry that happened...
Well I hope you don't mind ? Next time put the chick into a margarine container on paper towel and leave in the incubator. It can take over 24 hours or more to absorb the yolk. Definitely NEVER give a baby bird anything by beak till it can actually do it its self..Also don't put anything on the swollen umbilicus area.. it needs to dry up..
