I just discovered tonight that my broody bantam Cochin hens have been stashing eggs. All the ladies have been laying in the broody box so it’s hard to find all the eggs! And I missed one apparently! I have 6 eggs that are clearly developing and they include an English lavender laced Orpington, a mauve splash 💦 Orpington, a blue or black copper marans (possible frizzle) and a Gold Laced Wyandotte. I have seen Ameraucana x Orpingtons and Marans…but not a lot of Wyandotte crosses. So I’m just curious what might pass on to the babies? Muff, pea comb and a round body shape? The roosters that I’m assuming get the job done, are lavender Ameraucanas…so they’ll be black spilt to lavender.—with some gold leakage? Just curious! I also have a blue bantam Cochin, so there’s a slim chance he fathered some too. Thanks!

Oh wow, the Ameraucana genes must be really strong! I’d never guess it’s part Wyandotte! 😳
She even has a pea comb lol considering rose seems more dominant lol this is her mother View attachment 3081875
She’s very pretty!! 😍😍 So I’m thinking it will just look like a rounder larger bodied EE haha 😆 I was hoping for some green egg layers…but my GLW lays pinkish cream eggs…so they’ll probably just look pale blue 😆 at least the marans might get me an olive egg! 😍

How did they turn out?!!

How did they turn out?!!
They were all black or lavender, with beards, pea combs and looked like Ameraucanas 😆 They were also all boys! The one was a frizzle and he was really pretty! They all found new homes so I don’t have full grown pics, but here are a few when they were teens! I didn’t have any that looked part Wyandotte so I’m guessing her eggs didn’t make it in the pile! They were the most adorable babies!!
