Crossing the Road
I just discovered tonight that my broody bantam Cochin hens have been stashing eggs. All the ladies have been laying in the broody box so it’s hard to find all the eggs! And I missed one apparently! I have 6 eggs that are clearly developing and they include an English lavender laced Orpington, a mauve splash Orpington, a blue or black copper marans (possible frizzle) and a Gold Laced Wyandotte. I have seen Ameraucana x Orpingtons and Marans…but not a lot of Wyandotte crosses. So I’m just curious what might pass on to the babies? Muff, pea comb and a round body shape? The roosters that I’m assuming get the job done, are lavender Ameraucanas…so they’ll be black spilt to lavender.—with some gold leakage? Just curious! I also have a blue bantam Cochin, so there’s a slim chance he fathered some too. Thanks!
