Anyone have reptiles/amphibians? Show 'em off!

yup corns get the same size just not as girthy XD

Exactly, nobody in my neighborhood flinches when I tell them I have a corn snake, they have seen them wild here, but tell them I have a python and everybody looks at you like your crazy, it doesn't matter the breed or the temperment, if it's a python it is a monster.

I should never have told anyone that I owned him but I had this guy back when I was like 9, and as a 9 year old I really loved telling stories about this snake because I liked him so much. I probably exaggerated about his size to the neighbors and somebody freaked out and called our landlord and she called us and said either the snakes went(we had a red tail boa, but he was only three feet at the time) or we went. The snakes went, and I cried my little eyes out. I didn't know any better at the time, I just wanted to tell everybody about the snake I had that was a big as I was.

Ok, I just put on a UTH (side mounted) on my 20 gal snake tank, amd it's IMPOSSIBLE to get all the air bubbles flattened out, especially where the wire goes into it. Are air bubbles a big deal? Do I need to worry about it?

Nope, air bubbles won't affect it. Just looks ugly to us. I think they make them that way on purpose.

Coupe, I love your monitors and tegus. One of these days when I get the time to build big custom enclosures, I'd love to have a pair of blue tree monitors, and a blue tegu.

Blue tree monitors are stunning!!! Wish i had the money to buy a pair lol i ran out of room along time ago...i use to breed bearded dragons but had to cut way back..couldnt handle the electric bill anymore lol

My Alduin. My cousin who gave him to me told me she bought him as a corn snake, but I think he's some other sort of rat snake. Don't corns have belly checks? His is a sandy yellow solid color. And he has a yellowish hue to the rest of his scales. Don't anerys have only brown coloration? Any thoughts?

I wish I could help, Rachel, but I'm horrible at IDing anything in that particular group of snakes. Sorry. He is quite beautiful though.

Got a new CB70 put together last night. Once my tubs get here I can move some big girls over there, freeing up some smaller tubs. Empty tubs means a shopping spree.

Thanks. I wish I could ID him though. It's kind of awkward when I introduce him to people, and they ask what kind he is, and all I can say is well, I think he's some sort of rat snake. lol. He looks, pattern and head wise, like a gray rat, but his yellowish belly throws me off. He's still quite young, around a year and a half, and has a lot of growing to do. Every molt his color looks a little different. Maybe I'll figure it out one day

When I went to petsmart yesterday to buy the UTH, I noticed the ball python was much cheaper than the corn snake they had for sale! I always thought bp's were more valuable? I thought about buying the poor discounted fellow, it looked so sad in its little tank.
