Anyone Have This Happen.........Could it be a disease?

I haven't seen any bloody poo, but some do seem sick------kind of hunched up. I lost another this morning.

None of the adults are sick at all. I am going to treat for cocci and then worm them. I know they don't have lice or mites------I dusted for those about 2-3 weeks ago (as a preventative). I'm afraid I may lose all my chicks.

O.K., got the corid and added it to their water. I did notice today that the chicks do look as if they have diarrhea. Also, the one that died today had a disgusting smell to it. Not like a dead animal smell, just something really nasty that I can't describe------it smelled before it even died.

Just thought that I'd add that I was at a co-worker's last Saturday who has a ton of chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys-----could cocci work that fast? The first one died on Tues. or Weds.

The droppings of chicks with cocci have a very nasty smell that is recognizable once you've smelled it. Hope the corid does the trick.

I know this will sound weird, but thank God for that! Now I am positive that they have cocci------knowing what is wrong is a relief. You are right about the smell, I will NEVER forget it----YUCK!
