ok so we got some new chicks and they are apparently Shetlands but there is NOTHING on the internet on them and its like a reclusive breed no-one seems to know it ........... it can have a tuft on its head or not it can be golden laced silver laced but does anyone know the breed and what its like e.t.c i have heard it lays blue eggs ............. i would have posted pics but my chicks are just plain black standard birds although they do have a very delicate tail and dont have as long legs as my birds which are all just normal size x x x

thank you

ahh thanks x still i think its sort of a half made up breed maybe its got another name

There are proper Shetland hens. Burland are breeders of them. My neighbours have pure ones and they are fantastic birds. I aim to get a few soon as well as the Shetland geese. I already have Shetland ducks.
