I have woken up the last 2 mornings to feel drunk. Yesterday morning upon getting out of bed, I walked forward only to end up going backwards and falling onto the bed. Today it wasn't that bad although I still can't walk without feeling drunk, like it takes a second for my surroundings to catch up with me. And I can not move my head fast or bend over without a "Whoah now!" feeling.. I have no noticible sinus issues although I know that doesn't mean anything per say. I have taken a sinus pill today along with an antibiotic I had on hand. And no, it isn't expired. I toss those. I can't get to the doctor until next week. So what have been your experiences and what did you do to fix it? Thanks in advance!

DH has had bouts with vertigo. Twice after being on a cruise ship, the last one apparently idiopathic but it lasted a long time and was very disruptive. He eventually went for physical therapy wherein they had him do some eye and head exercises - it helped! He has been mostly vertigo-free for at least a year; has medication just in case - they usually prescribe valium, I think.

Yeap have it here, also my dad and grandmother had it. Meclizine or Dramamine help mine but I would also check with your doctor to be on the safe side. Mine is positional and can come from out of the blue. But if my sinuses are acting up in the least bit I will have it. Sometimes I don't even notice the sinus problem but my lip will get a weird tingly feeling.

Here too but not consistently.

I've had vertigo, related to a shingles outbreak on my cranial nerves. It is not fun at all. I would get to the doctor as soon as possible, as vertigo can be the symtom of some very serious illnesses. Most things, but not all, that can upset your balance can also affect your hearing. Sinus problems are unlikely to cause vertigo, and a single dose of antibiotics won't help either. As a residual effect of the shingles, I still have occasional, mild vertigo. I'm glad the falling down, puking for hours vertigo didn't last.

In the mean time, motion sickness medicine might help. Don't drive, either. It isn't worth the risk.

See your doctor. You might have a equilibrium problem, ear infection, low blood pressure or a heart condition. This is not normal especially if this is this is undiagnosed. Do not delay.

I have checked my BP and it was normal. And I have not driven since I can't even walk right..LOL I have enough antibiotics for a week and plan to continue them until I can get to the doctor next week. As I think about it, this past Monday, I was working and I was in a squatted down position when I noticed a red dot on the ground and I followed it with my eyes. It went away as I looked up. I really didn't think anything about it. This vertigo stuff didn't start until yesterday, but they may be related.
