Anyone impatiently waiting for your baby chicks to arrive?!?!

Awesome!!!! We are just south of Ft Worth and go to the one in Corsicana I think. We are planning a move east in the next year or so.

So my replacement chicks ship today and will be here tomorrow morning. 6 replacements, one being a Easter Egger Rooster since we aren't sure if one of the ones I got shorted was supposed to be my rooster I ordered. Sadly one of my crippled EE chicks died, the other seems to be doing better since I splinted her legs and gave her vitamins. She will always be crippled but is getting around ok. We'll see how she does, if she doesn't grow well and is suffering I'll cull her. So there will be 4 EE chicks and 2 Black Australorpe chicks, the packing peanuts will all be male (though there could be a pullet in there). I did ask that there be NO Leghorns in the packing peanuts. Hoping for either more Buff Orpingtons or even more broilers. Depending on what they send, wishful thinking of a Welsummer rooster being in there. But one can hope. But looking at the site, all they have is Orphingtons, Ameraucuna (Easter Eggers), and lots of white egg layers like Leghorns and white broilers. Ugh, can only hope there are other breeds in my peanuts.

Just lost another Easter Egger chick. Not sure what happened, no pasty butt, no signs of illness. Was fine just a few hours ago. They are a week old and I have the brooding room set at 88 degrees. I has sads now. I've lost 2 EE chicks and an Australorpe, I have replacements coming tomorrow, but still.

Lost an Australorpe last night. No clue what happened. It's warm enough, plenty of food and water. We still have a 98% survival rate which is awesome, but still.
