Well I got chicks this morning, 2 out of 4 anyway. I called yesterday to see where they were and was assured they were safe at "the plant" whatever that is. So I called this morning no answer. Called again, no answer. So I showed up (its 2 blocks) at 7:35 and beat on their door. Crazy, 7 people inside that somehow never heard the phone ring. So I got my chicks and beat it to the house to find the SLW dead in the box and the easter egger barely able to hold up her head. So I got a syringe and save-a-chick with some sugar to no avail. She lasted about 30 minutes. I have 4 local F2 olive egger eggs in the incubator so hopefully all goes well. Seems to be running perfect. I've never ordered chicks in the mail and have to say it hasn't been a great experience so far from the first order not getting shipped to the second order 50% mortality rate. I emailed them to let them know the deal so we shall see what happens.

It was sad to see her go after hanging on for so long. But the little barred rock hen who seemed in an equally bad way is up pecking and drinking and running around like everyone else so that's a relief at least. She's the only surviving BR out of the 4 i ordered.
