Our shipment from Ideal came in today, 20 chicks and no packing peanuts. We lost one chick, a Partridge Chantecler, shortly after getting home with them. It was doing poorly when we picked them up and I was not able to get it to revive enough to give it electrolytes. We also lost one Sumatra pullet from our Meyer order late yesterday. Everyone else is doing fine so far.

Here are the chicks from Meyer:

Buff Laced Polish, which are for my daughter. She's named them Chocolate and Sugar Cookie.


Buckeyes, they are Ginger and Nutmeg.


Sumatras, they are Pepper and Anise.


Olive Eggers and an extra chick (I'm betting Australorp). One of the OE has sparse leg feathers and ear tufts. They are Rosemary, Saffron, and Caraway.


Dark Cornish, they are Cinnamon and Spice.


Cornish X, the Snickerdoodle Gang.


Now I just have to wait for my order from Ideal that should be here Thursday.

I was actually disappointed to not have packing peanuts. I like the little punks and my freezer's getting low!

I'm glad you posted those pics! We are getting our sometime next week. We ordered with our neighbors, and all chose different breeds. 2 of ours are sumatra. We'll have a better idea of what to look for. We also ordered 2 Lakenvelders and 2 Spanish. Can't wait!

I'm sorry you lost a couple. We just lost one of our SLW yesterday morning. No clue why as she was running with the rest of them all day long with no issues the day before.

I kinda wish we did but since we're still in "city" limits they're not and I don't want to deal w/ my crabby neighbor next door.

I ordered the Murray's choice layers assortment, they are supposed to come 3/22-3/24!!!! I can't wait!!!!!
