Anyone impatiently waiting for your baby chicks to arrive?!?!

If you can get the USPS tracking number you can request the Postal Service send you texts every time the chicks are transferred along the way. It was great to see them get closer and closer, though it was frustrating when they arrived at the airport a half an hour away and I had to wait until morning for them to arrive at my local post office. The good part was I knew I'd be getting a call in the morning and I was ready for it.

Thanks, I came across that when I was looking up the tracking number.

6:15am we get the call from the PO, babies are here! Picked up 43 and loving them already!

Next order due end of month and we're already thinking of placing a few more...

McMurray, the only place we'll use! We got Sultans(11) and Polish(30, White Crested Black & Gold Laced) plus the 2 free they send(one looks like another Duckwing, the other is almost all black, we're intrigued to say the least so far with it!)...We are just in love with these 2 breeds...5 died during shipping, sad, but I have no worries, I'll email them the count and they'll add to our next order due at month's end(20 more gold laced polish!) without a question, that's what I like about them!...

I got a tracking number and they have only moved 30 mins away from the hatchery and haven't moved or status updated since 2:49 ! I did sign up for the text updates and still showing them in same place. I don't think I'll ever have chicks shipped again. I'm beginning to think this whole process is cruel. It's no wonder so many chicks die, even if my chicks arrive healthy and live I'm just going to purchase from feed stores from now on.

Hope this post shows up as recent because I just got my chicks yesterday!!!!! I am over the moon. Was shorted one Speckled Sussex so I got 3 THREE Golden Comets, my hubbie said "just in case". Got up to get the lotions for Poison Oak itch (aaargh). Passed by brooder, everyone piled up together sleeping in one " big" fuzzball. 3 Golden Comet pullets, 3 Buff Orpingtons pullets, 2 Speckled Sussex pullets and the one rooster. Gonna have to watch the SS to figure out which one it is doing some eye pecking of the blonde girls and put that SS in time out!

Where do u think the feed stores for the most part get their babies? Most commercial feed chain stores order and get their chicks delivered ups just like the rest of us. Hate to b the bearer of bad news, but I thought my local store bought locally unto I asked. Not to mention, by ordering online you have much larger selection of chicks. I've bought online & from local stores & I hate to say it but some die unfortunately. The key is not to get your eggs cracked over it & enjoy it.

The feed stores get theirs from the same hatcheries. I ordered online to get the breeds I wanted as they were not available locally.

Yes I know this, doesn't matter to me where the chicks come from. The good thing about going to the store is that they are already there and I can pick them out. According to the tracking # and text alerts they have not moved. I'm hoping that isn't true, if they arrive dead then I'll just go to the stores and get what I want they have what I ordered. We will see tomorrow.
