I have to take a fifth bio/marine science/environmental science elective to fill up my bio cognates and nothing is really specified other than that I have to take one plants course and one 3000 level course. I'm taking economic botany and it's a 3000 so that fulfills that requirement. In the Fall I will probably take anatomy and physiology, a statistics course, and neurobiology or something else medically related. The only reason I'm taking those classes is because it seems that most of the things I *might* apply to either require one or see them as much more attractive on a resume.
I do have room for one or two more classes next semesters if I find I need something else, but I should be good. That leaves me with four extra credits and a choice between marine science courses (which I don't really care to take) or some other random bio or environmental science courses. I still have room to change, but the food and ag is a plant based course with lab time. I think it's an environmental course. I tried to fit anatomy and phys into my schedule this semester instead of food and ag so I could take anatomy OR phys the semester after, but the required honors class is right in the time slot of anything else I need to take.
I really hate choosing classes, but I'm interested to hear why you think food and ag should be scrapped. I wish my school gave me more direction as to what to take for the cognates, but all they really say is to take psych and choose the rest myself.
