Anyone in WV???

I'm in WV...Princeton, and can see the VA line from my house. I've been keeping bees, and now going to give a shot at chickens.

I'm in the design phase of building a chicken tractor. It's looking to be relatively heavy...but nice. I've gathered chicken wire is for chickens, and not predators. Of course we have dogs, and I've seen skunks, fox, oppossum, racoons, black snakes, hawks, and owls.

What kind of wire fence would you recomend? I've read hardware cloth is good (1/2" squares), but would like to use something lighter like fencing with 2" x 3" squares.

How about some sage advice? Thanks.

Tom
hey welcome im from summers county and 1"x 4" welded wire is good for chicken tractors. Plus pecks in athens and tracor supply has it in bulck.

That is where my splash roo came from, a hatch last year

Thanks TravisE, Im having good results hatching out my Mille Fluer Duccle bantams. They are super cool chickens, very friendly. Hows those BLRW chicks doing? I fixed one of mine with bum legs, she hobbles a bit but better than flopping about.

Keep me first on the list for your extras

TravisE, I'm from Princeton and really like BLRW's. I swapped for some eggs on the PP/Swap forum here on BYC and got 6 eggs shipped from up north. However, it was our first time incubating and none of them hatched out of our homemade coolerbator. Anyway, I'm looking for a rooster to help protect my hens that I have and would be interested in one of your BLRW roosters once you figure out what they are, and any hens that you might have left over. Just me know and I can be there in 45 minutes. Thanks!

Hey if anyone is interested I have started a facebook page for my chickens. If you are on that site and have some time it would be great to get some WV support, just search "Nicks Chicks and Fairchance Eggs" and please hit the like button for me.

Cheers
