Anyone in WV???

Right now I have Buff Orps, silver laced wyandottes, olive eggers, easter eggers and silkie chickens along with khaki Campbell and crested blue Swedish ducks. I have 2 incubators going at the moment. One with quail to hatch Tuesday and the other with ducks. I'm always up for swapping/sharing if I have something you want just let me know.
I'm interested in a few of all the chickens except the silkies. Eggs would be fine or chicks would be better. I don't have much to trade cuz mine free range so they would be mixed sex link with barred rock roo and New Hampshire with same roo. I'm willing to buy but incubator won't be open till after the 25th

Hi BobbyJo,
Haven't chatted with you in a few days. Got some bad news Saturday or so, I won't b getting the Japanese Bantams I was expecting, turns out the hen that he was counting on t lay the eggs died and the young mans Mom won't let him buy another. Anyway that means I'll have more room in the bantam coop for more Silkies. Can you send a pic of the Roos you have?
Sorry I haven't been on here in a while..but yes, if you are still interested I will get you pics of the boys. Would you be more intersted in partridges or blues?I ordered 6 layers through the Extension office for my daughters 4H project and ended up bringing 10 home, but I am def ready to add some Silkie hens.

I only have one adult Silkie hen. But I have three chicks from my last hatch and 8 more in the bator now. Maybe trade chicks???

Thats a possibility too..I don't have an incubator, although Ive been looking into it, just haven't made the leap yet..I can save you up some eggs too if you want..The would be out of one of two hens (a splash and a red) and the roo is either a blue or partridge. I dont keep them separate, other than keeping all of the roos out of the coop when the girl are in there and keeping the black banties away form the Silkies

Unless you would be interested in a few of these layer chicks..they are just a red mix , think they are about 8 days old right now. And if you are intersted in any of the roos, I would give them to you, free of charge/no swap..Id just be happy knowing that I no longer have 15 of them crowing 24 hours a day right outside of my bedroom window..lol

ROFLMBO... I sure wouldn't want that many roosters near my bedroom window! I may take one of the roosters if I can get a rooster pen going soon! I want t have about 4 hens and two Roos. So I can sell fertile eggs and or chicks. I'll let u know when this last batch of eggs hatches. Pm me so we can exchange phone #'s, and directions t our homes. Thx

So I just incubated duck eggs for the first time. I had about a 30% hatch rate which was disappointing. It looked like the majority of the eggs developed right up until the end. I managed the humidity pretty well I thought but the ducklings that did hatch still had to be helped. Just wondering if anyone had some good tips for the next time. I'm starting collecting eggs again today. Hopefully this time will be better.

I have had decent luck hatching ducks so far but I think the humidity just has to be rather high. I found that I had to help a few out myself and I think it was due to the shell being so hard so I started spraying the eggs every day with just a short mist of water. I have some due this Saturday so I'm anxious to see how this will affect hatching. I have had a good hatch rate regardless but I'm always trying to tweak my methods. What kind of incubator are you using? What temps and humidity are you keeping? Also, what kind of ducks?
