Anyone into Geocaching?

Thinking I had it all together this past weekend to get my friends involved. I could not get the GPS to work right. Mind you it had taken a long rest between useage. It was showing a 20 mile difference then the info on the web site. I knew it was a setting but for the life of me could not figure it out. Went to plan B... down load a trial ap to my phone and use it. It actually did fairly well. I guess I was the one struggling because my GPS let me down. The next morning they wanted to go back out. trial period was up so I went to my Garmin car GPS I looked like I was carying a lap top around trying to find cashes....But all went good. Many laughs and I figured out the setting and fixed them for this weekend.

We made a big loop through part of NM and TX. Took off in the morning and came back late at night. A lot of times I go by myself or with my son, or niece, or new team member who is a fellow teacher. My Geo name of course is WriterofWords but collectively we are known as Team Wow!

Do any of you know if.. I find a cache and record my find and then the owner comes and removes that cache (so its no longer on file) dose the number of my finds for those cache go away? it says I only have 2 finds and I know I had more then that! Or maybe I'm remembering another account I have/Had.... Hmmm?

No even if a cache is removed or archived your count stays the same.
