I'm so sorry but I don't recall selling you OE's. . . . Refresh my memory.

NannaD'sCrazyCoop - Yes, yours will calm down. Mine were almost always calm and friendly, if not, it just took laying to calm them down.

And don't worry! I've met people who have raised chickens for years, sometimes decades, and still denied the whole Easter Egger vs Ameraucana vs Araucana thing. You're learning quicker than most!

Any info on OE would be greatly appreciated. I would love to keep them. If they're too aggressive then I can't have them around the little ones.
When I got them they were already pretty big. I am not sure on the age of any of my flock - I got them free....started off as a project for the little ones and grew overnight into my craZy cOOp!
But we're loving it

Ah, read it wrong.

As said, they won't be aggressive. Most Olive Eggers are crosses of true Ameraucana and French Marans, who both are very docile, very friendly, and very laid-back breeds. I've never ever heard of a mean or skittish Olive Egger, but again, young chicks may be skittish, but it changes when they grow up and lay eggs.

I always recommend Olive Eggers to people.

Thank you. Any idea's on how to help nurture them and help them adjust?

you just have to give them time to build up trust in you. Bring them treats, sit with them, move slowly, etc. You don't sound like the type that is going to kick at them.

I got them to "snatch - grab and run" out of my hand...they're learning where the yummies come from!
