If he is a cross, would that explain why in 2 1/2 years he has never bred any of my hens?

My crosses have no problem getting their job done...maybe he's shy and waits until they are in the coop for the night

Are you sure he hasn't? I was positive that my one roo never did his job. Until, I hatched some eggs and I have little ones to prove that he was getting the job done
