The temps have been pretty cold lately, but it was warmer today. My Guineas don't have a coop they sleep on a roost. I haven't really dealt with frostbite before. If this is frostbite what should I do about it.
I coat frostbitten areas with triple antibiotic ointment - the one without any pain medication! - which will help with preventing infection as well as softening up any dead tissue so it falls off.
Guineas are notorious for hating coops, unfortunately. In which case, when we get extreme weather, they pay for their stubbornness. Then again, Leghorns are often the victims of frostbite *inside* a coop.
