Anyone know what the minimum amount of chicks I can get at Tractor Supply is?

Double check the Feed store chick labeling is accurate, if your picking a breed. They mis-label chick info quite a bit.

My guess is each store (and state) have their own policies, so you'd have to call your store to find out.

That said, yes 3 is the recommended absolute minimum. I've bought only 1 before (not from TSC) but only because I was replacing a chick that passed, and some feed stores allow it if you explain the situation.

So there’s no way I could just get two then?

Our TSC sets the minimum at 4, but they have allowed me to get fewer before when I explained that I had plenty more at home in the brooder and just wanted one or two of a particular breed that they happened to get in. Not sure if you have Orscheln there, but they have no minimum.

I believe, after searching some more, that my tractor supply minimum is 4 chicks. Do you think I could convince them to let me just get two because we have others?

I'd call and see if you can speak with a manager, sometimes they can ok special purchases such as smaller numbers.

I think you could. Just go in and tell them your situation and that you would like just one to replace your lost chick.

At my TSC, when Iwas buying feed, someone bought only one because he told them why he only wanted one.
