So, this guy landed on my coop this morning, 4 feet from me. Anyone know what type of hawk this is?

So I have no idea, except that it's a beautiful bird!
Toy dogs are definitely at risk, and coyotes will take them too.
Is that your daytime only run! If it's meant to protect your birds, it needs an upgrade soonest. Chicken wire and little staples are easily breached by so many predators.

Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk. A lot bigger than the Coopers Hawk.
Good point! But The reason I think it’s a Cooper’s hawk and not a red tail is because:
“ The Cooper's has a relatively long, narrow tail with light and dark horizontal bands while the Red-tailed Hawk has a relatively short and wide tail without the obvious banding.”

Post two images of juveniles for comparison.

State larger is Red-tailed, because I am certain of species ID, not becuase feature is something used to make ID.
