Anyone listen to National Public Radio?

I'm a dedicated NPR listener. Best news all around. More thoughtful, indepth, educational and varied than any other radio (or TV) news source, IMHO.

My husband has loved NPR since he was a little kid, just like the original poster. He listens to it constantly in the car, to the point where he COMPLETELY commandeers the radio. In the last year, he's just started letting me listen to music occasionally, but for the ten years previous, I had to just learn to like NPR, no matter how much I didn't want to. There are some good shows. I love This American Life. For the rest of the time though, even if it's good and informative, I'd rather be listening to a CD.

NPR listener here!
I love Science Friday. Our local affiliate used to carry The Splendid Table but I have to tune in to another state's NPR to hear it on the internet.

Calm, rational fact based discussions are the norm on NPR. That's why I left the AM political screamers.

I love "wait, wait, don't tell me". Its not so good to listen in the car though, I laugh so hard that it makes it difficult to drive, and then I have to pee...

We have a local daily show called Eklektikos that I love. All kinds of music, and the guy who hosts it has a truly impressive knowledge of music. He will sometimes follow an idea, or musical link for the whole show. For example, he might play all songs that mention clouds, or a musical link to a Bach peice that is repeated in many different genres of music. KUT Austin.

I car pooled years ago, with a one hour commute each way. We were radio compatible from the start...NPR both ways, whoever was driving.

Gotta go cook dinner and listen to Evening Edition
