**Anyone make dividers for hatching different breeds in an incubator?

thank you
I think I get what you are saying I need to see if I can get at least 3 egg cartons in my incubator. I am hatching 50 eggs. I need to turn them still for the night. I think I get what you are saying about the dowel stick or Pvc pipe. Do you have a pic of how you are doing it? I am more of a visual person.

Guess I need to see if I have 4 egg cartons to put them in, they are just laying in the bator now.

The room they are in is not cold at all actually its warm. It did well for me the 1st hatch I did and keeps the animals a way from it as well and the humans.

Here's how I would do it if I had used a regular carton (two-row type).

Thanks to ArizonaDesertChicks for being easy to find in Google. (I was too lazy to find the parts and photograph.

I think the nice thing about they way they did this is you can cut both the pipe and carton to fit your bator. You could even use a longer pipe and lay more than one carton on it. I don't think it needs to be attached, just so there is room to shift from side to side.

I have a different but similar problem with eggs with differing hatch dates. I used a plastic kiwi container. It is rectangular in shape and about 4 inches deep, 4 inches wide and 6 long. I cut the lid and bottom off. I placed it smooth (or old lid side down because it was smooth and even) side down. Now I have a little mini pen which is see through and allows good airflow. I don't think the hatching chicks will knock or push it. I'll post again after this system gets put to the test.

will post pics when I get it done

I use upside down silverware holders, they have small holes for air flow, but are heavy enough so the babies can't get out but large enough they can move to get out of the shell and dry off right

This is a thread that has me intrigued...I've been online looking at egg hatching baskets with dividers. I do think that the chicks playing football with each other delays or even eliminates hatching times for some chicks. I don't know...but I think its something worth looking into. Great thread!! I like the idea of making my own with that plastic sheeting stuff....gonna buy some and play around with it. If I get it the way I have it pictured in my head, I will try and post a pic. I will be setting eggs this weekend so I've a bit of time, but I definitely am going to be doing this!!

I use the paper cartons but I still separate breeds with cardboard. you can even use the tops, I use them for the eggs too small or too big to fit in the holes. I cut lots of slits in the cardboard and mist it down. watch your humdity after you put it in. It can suck up a lot of water.
