Anyone mechanically inclined? S10 Blazer no start...

Between that and the suggestion to check the vacuum lines, sounds like a good place to start. Thank you all! I like that these things can actually be tested, I really didn't want to be replacing parts until I found the right one. Don't think it has a tach, but just looked in my repair manual and they give testing instructions with voltage requirements.

Don't worry about the math, I cheated and used a calculator

I really didnt think it would be the ignition module cause they should fail all at once but I talked to my brother(he works for kenworth) about it an he thinks it could be an the running rough was it starting to fail. Not all at once but failing to keep up an only firing 1 or 2 time every revolution when it should fire 3.

A quick update... had gorgeous weather today and my husband was off work so we went out to the Blazer again. No fuel coming out of the injectors. DH disconnected the fuel line to the TBI and there was fuel there when I turned the ignition on. He couldn't hear the injectors working either. So we are picking up a TBI rebuild kit (parts store said it will be in tomorrow) and picked up a relay just in case. I have an extra TBI here, back when my fuel pump in my S10 went out DH thought it was the injectors so we picked one up at the junk yard to rebuild. Love having extra parts that will fit... Also have an extra distributer from when my engine was swapped. Hopefully we can get this back on the road soon, my daughter is driving our old '83 full sized Blazer and not liking the gas mileage. She did quit complaining when I told her I was sure I could find a bicycle around somewhere... And I told her that at least she doesn't have to pay the mechanics.

I think about 12 mpg? My S10 used to get about 21... then we swapped the engine so she only gets 18 or 19 now. Guess a tight engine makes a bit of a difference.

That's about what our old crew cab farm truck gets... it's an old rail road truck geared low. I have a truck in the garage that DH was rebuilding, he needs to get back to work on it. A 1969 Chevy 4x4 with 4:56's under it. Another vehicle that can't pass a gas station

but a lot of fun to drive!

What was your last truck?

I got curious and just checked mpg on our '89 1500... only 14.5. But that's with part of the driving in 4 and using the stupid 'winter blend' fuel that they push on us.

8 mpg on a 1500... low gears or was that the mileage in the mud holes that you frequent?
