Anyone nervous about Bird Flu?

Sharon, honestly I don't understand why you are so afraid. Do you remember when the media was "trying" to scare everyone with SARS? There was never a huge outbreak in our country. There were reported cases here, but so what? Don't buy into the scare. It's exactly what they want you to do. Then back in 2010 there was the big "swine flu (H1N1)" scare. Did you see a massive outbreak in our country? No, and no. As with any flu, those who have compromised immune systems already are the ones at risk. We lose people to the flu who are not well to being with, which is nothing new. Don't let them scare you. This is no different than anything else they've politicized. If you want to be afraid or alarmed of anything? Be alarmed and enraged at what our Govnt. is allowing big agriculture to do to our food chain with GMO's.

Now THAT is something to be alarmed about!​

Well, I'm not really afraid. Just concerned because we DID have an outbreak of SARS in this country especially in Toronto. Many people died. The city was virtually almost shut down. This was a few years ago. But thankfully they got it under control. Yes, I agree that GMO food is something to be angry about. We have no control over this which is maddening. Then they wonder why so many people come down with so many cancers and diseases. But this isn't going to stop me from getting my 10 baby chicks next month.

my cousin almost died from H1N1 in 2010. There were 12 people in icu with her that had an resistant strain that did not react to normal meds. They received a trial drug n 5 out of 13 people died. It attacked all of her rt. lung n half of her lt. lung. My cousin is a healthy 30 yr old no inmune health issues.

The signs are not backwards. What the signs are showing, is that the squirrels will not eat the genetically modified corn. In the U.S., we are one of the VERY few countries in the world where genetically modified organisms have been forced into our food stream without labeling. It is causing a lot of health problems. So the point of the photos is to show that even the animals can tell a difference and will avoid it. I avoid all GMO's in my food by only eating organic. I also have cut all processed foods out of our diet as they are totally filled with GMO's. I don't want to compromise the lives of my children with the GMO crap.

HECK NO!!! The media blows EVERYTHING out of control. Drug companies are going to come up with a new flu shot and scare everyone who's willing to be afraid into spending money to get this shot so big Pharmaceutical can get more money. Just like in the beginning of this past winter. I have never seen the media and news outlets push the flu shot so much in my life. It's joke. Just like SARS and H1N1. It's all hype for the pharmaceutical companies. So in answer to your question, the "new" bird flu from China H7N9 is another big hoax. I'm not worried in the least.

I think you really need to do some research on how many people were killed or extremely ill from H1N1 and SARS before you call them a hoax. If you truly consider H1N1 a hoax then I think you may have spent a portion of your 47 years living under a rock. Almost a dozen schools were closed in my town and those surrounding, additionally I work at the hospital in town and watched plenty of patients either spend many days in the ICU or be killed from this flu. Getting the "standard" flu is one thing, mutated strains is much different. Clearly you are fortunate enough to have never witnessed friends or family affected by such illnesses but I guarantee if that day ever comes for you, which I hope it doesn't, than you won't be so absurd to call these a hoax.
