Anyone Nervous About New England Nor'easter?

if you have netflix on another device it works as long as you don't drain the charge though

I am in nh so I understand the weather. I now have 3 hens and 5 babies in my spare room lol. With the neg temps I didn't want to risk the babies. I do have my other hens in the coop. I gave them a flock block and extra water and food in case I can't make it out there for a couple days since we will be the only few stupid people out there because we plow snow. The heated waterer is a great investment.

Good morning! Here in RI, the heavy snow just started. We only have about half an inch, maybe less. As far as I can tell, my hens have already gone into the coop. I have a solar powered light bulb, and I'm going out to turn that on now, so they have a little light in the coop. How is everyone else doing?

I went out and gave them food and water and oatmeal. I think mine have gone back in to the coop too. I will close the doors to the coop once I am sure they aren't coming out. I kept the food in the coop but not the water. I heard you should keep the water out because of frost bite correct?

Yeah, because it makes the air wet and then when they go outside it gives them frost bite. Update: less snow than I thought, and a couple hens followed me back outside when I went out there.

If they are going to be closed in all day put the water in with them.
Agree. If you have good ventilation in the coop, frostbite should not be a concern. Leave the water in the coop so they stay hydrated.

In central PA, we've already got about 8" of snow from last night and it's still coming down steady.

Update: 12:30 pm EST: 13" of snow. Still coming down hard.
