Did you hear there's a group now that advertises that they will come to your house and take care of your animals after the rapture? They charge you 110 per year (or something like that) so that you can be assured your pets will be taken care of and not starve in the house after you're gone.

Religion did scare me as a child and think it would be awful to burn in Hell. Leaving my love ones even scared me even more. That was troubling in my younger childhood years.

One time my Catholic aunt said there is no such thing as Hell as a burning fire pit under the Earth. She even went a bit further and shocked me as "There is no such thing as God". I was just floored hearing that and I told her yes there was. I didn't know the difference but it was all due to what I was taught, nothing more. I didnt have to think on my own how I want to interpret. Now I am older, I can see why my aunt said those things even she married to a Catholic, convert to Catholic but still upholds those views of her own. I do not know of to this day if she is "underground non religious" person but I would leave it as that because I was only about seven or eight years old.

So much for rapture!

They are preying on people and taking advantage of their beliefs. That is so wrong.

I have no religious beliefs nor do I believe or assume there is a higher being/god or other. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that and them so long as they do not try to influence mine.

I agree it is wrong to take advantage of people like that, figurively I meant as a joke, not an insult.

$110 a year is CHEAP! I used to do pet sitting services for farm folks, not city folks. Believe me that is so cheap and that would be my rate when I was pet sitting for a friend that had farm animals and pets a WEEK. She had alot of animals so it would be worth that much to me and my time and it was reasonable for her as well. Thanks Thai, update, it was one time fee and they will take care of the animals at their own expense thereafter.
If those pet sitters do not want to mess with snakes and other exotic creatures, they would not last long or they would just quit.....it is the name of the game when you hire a pet sitting service. Or they would let them go wild after you were gone. I've had pet sitters calling me to do their jobs because they could not handle it. Snakes and exotic pets do not bother me but wanted to make sure to understand what they need because I never had owned them but sure they are easy to care for when you keep a few things in mind when you are caring for someone else's pets.

Sure I would not trust those people that quit the job but be thankful they had a backup person who was willing to do the job.

Anyway, update, that link for the services would be ok if someone does not have anyone to care for their pets. Many of us would have considered adoption or give it away to family members. It is up to anyone that chooses. I find that website rather humourous and the camel book would be a good reading!

Honestly, if the end is coming, wiping out mankind off from the face of Earth, it would be rather strange to pay for someone to take care of animals when everyone is gone. Animals will be gone too.

I agree it is wrong to take advantage of people like that, figurively I meant as a joke, not an insult.

Animals have souls? I would like to think so, they can be expressive, they have needs and wants and desires and a good innate ability to sense things that we dont. To survive the rapture, if humans go, so do the animals. Some will survive the odds and some won't.

Personally, I don't think it's any worse than some of the things the Christian churches do to raise money. There's a website for the born-again where the leader declares quite emphatically that animals do not have souls and will not be welcomed into heaven so it's only natural that some people who believe in the rapture would be concerned about their beloved pets. If paying someone 110 dollars alleviates that concern I'm all for it.

I just think that if people want to believe in the rapture, that is their choice; and I don't think we should make fun of them here.

I believe in god and have been saved through the blood of christ however as far as considering myself religious No, you get into religions and it'll all be a big blow up. Its up to everyone to make their own salvation and I dont judge anyone. I know my relationship with god and thats all I need to worry about its not my place to judge anyone else.
