We are ablended family So our belives are blended too. but I am fond of a quote form the movie Kingdom of Heaven" I take no stock in religion What God cares about is whats in hear (head) and in here (heart ) and what u do each day will make u a good person ....or Not"

I respect everyone's beliefs and cherish their right to hold them; but please remember that this is not the place to debate them. This is not about who is right and who is wrong. It is about sharing information about what we believe; or even what we speculate about.

I am athiest that calls myself an agnostic, just in case.

We have very religious families and we go to church for special events. They don't have a problem with us and we don't have a problem with them. It is allll about respect and love.

I don't mind them believing as long as they don't mind that I don't.

It's working so far.

Everyone does have the right to choose what they believe.I absolutely agree with that.

I have my beliefs and they are mine, I've never asked anyone to follow them and don't like it when someone else tries to prove they are right. I agree with man inventing religion to explain certain things, that is what man has done all along. When you have billions of people, you have billions of explanations.

Thanks for making this thread. It's so hard to discuss matters like this with anyone thats extreme one way or another. I grew up in a family that went to church every sunday, sunday school, wednesday prayer service and bible school. I'm not a non believer but I'm totally dissallusioned with religion. I think most all religions have been manipulated so much as to serve certain people and not God. I've seen so much in this world where people use their religion as a platform for elevating themselves over others or even hate. I'm just not with that. I think we all born with a God given sense of right and wrong and if folks would simply think of others before themselves then what a wonderful world it would be. I would love to find some kind of spiritual truth that makes sense but for now I feel I must shun all religions and find my own spritual path by myself.

it sounds like you already found your spiritual truth.

Barred rocker, follow your own path and seek your own way. Keep your heart, mind and eyes open. Your way will appear-you are in it and living and learning it.

Farmerlor, I like the way you think!

I'm another one in the spiritual but not religious boat. I attend a Baptist church because I'm very close with my grandmother and it makes her happy. I'm incredibly lucky to be part of an amazingly inclusive church where I'm not the only one with a Darwin fish on my car, where gay families are welcome, where the pastor's best friend is a Rabbi. While I don't agree with most of the Baptist theology, they don't care a bit and they welcome me anyway, and I always get something good out of attending. I am very aware how rare this is.
This thread is great
