Anyone on BYC in college at the moment? Come say Hello!

I just had to share with you guys that I got accepted to Cornell University for Veterinary Medicine, so it looks like I will be a student once again! I should be starting in August, providing everything goes well with loans and what-not! I've been so excited! I loved being a student, and find I often miss it since I've been working!

Congratulations!

Ok, it just hit me that I only have about 2 months before I graduate from college. This hit me only after I found out that for my graduation, my brother is getting a trip to Spain with his girlfriend. I could get a European Tour if I want, but I don't know if I'll be working right after graduation or not.

I'm in college, and I absolutely have started to become I think a little too obsessed with chickens, but you can never be TOO obsessed can you? Getting my first very own hatch this weekend, REALLY excited about that! I've helped my dad with his chickens ( he lets me call them mine until he wants to sale them. Gotta love him!) and they've became my absolute obsession. I'm sure if I talked to anybody about chickens they get tired of it! I think my parents are beginning to get tired. hahaha

am studying a college course but have got an entirely different situation to everyone else on this thread.
am living in a residential centre for people with severe or profound autism and we have our own inhouse tutoring,the course am studying PT is this one;
http://www.asdan.org.uk/Award_Programmes/Towards_Independence
it is for people with severe or profound learning disability [that is,the UK definition of learning disability which means intelectual disability],due to age [twenty nine] am not able to access special colleges anymore as they only take up to twenty five,and mainstream FE colleges are assessed as completely inacessible to self although they do do special courses such as the one am doing now.
its ridiculous that in the UK by the time we get to twenty five we are expected to either have improved enough to access regular mainstream education and work or we are still considered to low functioning so we are kept in the home to stare at the walls.
it is one of the reasons had got into incubating,there is only so much staring at walls am able to do without going crazy.

its not obsession,its called passion. :p
might as well be highly passionate over someone that appreciates it rather than the typical crud that humans obsess over; football,fashion,films and music.

Just stumbled upon this thread and thought I would stop and say hi! Also a college student, also passionate about my chickens, ducks, and turkeys which I share with my boyfriend on his property. 3 days out of the week I live in the city to go to school, which can be torture sometimes, but very blessed to spend the majority of my time at home with the ladies (a the few gentlemen, too, of course). I don't think anyone who does not/has not ever raised a backyard flock could not understand the interest and joy I find in it. Even my family thinks its a bit odd, but they are happy with the overall goal of self-sustainability on our little farm.

Can't resist sharing pictures of my babies.. here are a few

Happy studying and bird-loving, all!
