Oh, I agree if they promised to stay in touch and then just NOTHING, I would be furious! I'm so sorry that happened to you. I prefer to keep it cut and dried. LOL. I'm sure he's just fine! Honestly. People. This is another reason people get a bad taste for some rescue groups! Some think they are the only ones who know how to take care of a dog and their way is the only way.

But, giving great dogs second chances is a great thing! Wish I had contacts to help you! I'm still on touch with Saint Bernard people, but noone connected to danes.

I got jaded buying from that one breeder- which is a bummer because Brutus was the best darn looking dane anywhere. he came from a long lived line- most made it to 12 years old- just a great dog. But he had been attacked by the grump because for what ever reason they put him as a 6 month old puppy in with them- WITH their newborn pups! and I think he had been hit because he was head shy when we got him. It was the breeders friend who had him, but he was out of her dogs.

but the female we got from her, she rescued her too. I dunno. She said she'd credit us if we ever wanted a puppy from her later. Maybe I should check in with her- I just think she must hate me by now! lol.

I didn't see if anyone else directed you to the Great Dane Club of America yet: http://www.gdca.org/ but usually breed clubs are a great place to start your search for a purebred pup.
