Anyone Ordered from a Hatchery?

I lucked out and got a really pretty Salmon Faverolle pullet from Meyer (ordered through MyPetChicken). I ordered a Faverolle from another hatchery and her coloring is a little off, but is still a sweet bird. Mine are backyard chickens for eggs and for pets, so breed standards don't matter as much to me. If you want to exhibition quality birds for breeding or showing, order from a breeder.

When I order from hatcheries I use Cackle. I've always had the best results from them ( I don't say luck because there's no such thing). They have good quality birds and prices are usually better.

Now that said I have used others when they didn't gave what I wanted ( breeds they don't carry). Murray McMuuray would be a second choice.

I've never had good results from Ideal. What I've ordered their quality was not so good on most of the birds, and I lost nearly all the birds before they were totally grown.

APA breeders are the only way to go for show birds for sure. But I'm more on the back yard budget.

I ordered mine from Purely Poultry and they all arrived very healthy little chicks and a rooster :)
If I were going to do it all over again I would order from these folks as they were absolutely great to work with.
