OK I'm in too. I don't have a weight goal as such, I would just like to have a slow and steady loss throughout the year and see where I end up at Christmas. I lost about 25lbs earlier this year by upping my exercise (walking) and cutting back on sugar, alcohol and carbs. I'm pretty nervous about weighing myself as I fell off the wagon and fell pretty hard but I will do the weigh in on Jan 1 with everyone else and take it from there.

I recently got the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga dvd (http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Loser...5TLI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293568548&sr=8-1) to try and tone up more and have a more specific and set routine, but it's at my apt and I haven't watch it yet... I'll let you know when I do!
Can you tell me about inhale and pilates?
Anyone else do any workout/fitness activities? I currently do some weight lifting and love the muscles I'm gaining in my arms.
I've been doing situps regularly for many months now and I think they've lost their affect. I do 100 a day but I'm thinking I should go up to 200 a day; half in the morning, half before bed. Any ideas?
Inhale is a yoga workout directed by Steve Ross, it is an hour long program, in my area it is on the Oxygen channel. The yoga guru's don't like it to much, but I really like his program, it is as challenging as you want to make it, but everyone can start at any fitness/yoga level they are currently at and improve w/ it. He has quite a bit of stretching that is what the opponents don't like.
Pilates is an exercise that is like yoga, in many of the poses, but non of the spiritual aspect ( which I like, that is the one thing I don't like about yoga when they get all spacey on you) it is closer to power yoga actually and concentrates on a powerfull core (abds)
Both have no jumping, running, high impact but give you a great workout, you will be sweating, and working out areas you never knew you had.
I am looking forward to doing some weightlifting again, walking/biking more, and cutting down some of the after-dinner snacks I was eating this fall... I'm less worried though about weight as about just being out-of-shape.
For those who are looking for something "a little sweet" - check out the fruit-based teas. They're sweet already with no sugar or sweetener needed. Also check out agave. It's a great sweetener that doesn't spike your blood sugar (my DH is diabetic so that's how we know).
I'm firmly of the camp that there's no "bad food". I don't cut out any food from my diet (eg, my food intake). I do however, consider some so-called ingredients to be non-food and some of those are downright evil (highfructose corn syrup is a great example of an evil ingredient, and so, imho, is aspartame.)
Anyways - I will post my exercise log daily here to keep myself honest. I plan to do some form of exercise 5 days a week, plus stretching the other 2 days.
I just paid for 12 sessions with a personal trainer. My Christmas present to myself. I've worked with one before, an I really liked the results I got. I find it easier to push myself when someone else is pushing me. I hope for 4 weeks of twice a week and one month of once a week. It also keeps me honest about my exercise. I'm under the gun, so to speak, with a blood work appointment coming up in January. The last time my cholesterol numbers were high, so the the goal is to lower the numbers so I won't have to go on medication....healthy is more important than thin, but thin would be awful nice.
I'm going back to Sparkpeople too. I find that keeping an accounting of what I eat helps me too. I like spark people cause it is easy and free.
I joined the Y this past year but it's not been easy around here. If I could lose 30-40 I'd be happy. How are we going to help each other here? How is this going to work?

I started at 200 last year and am happy to have gotten some weight off,but I weighed 172 before the holidays.Ugh,what a slacker I was. Time to kick it in gear.
I don't usually buy exercise stuff,but I have thought it might be fun to get some virtual exercise games for my wii.Anyone use recent stuff with arm bands or kinect(xbox)? We got the board last year,but it got boring rather fast.
