Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

People tried to sabotage me when I started loosing weight. Especially my family and close friends. Weird

One minute they would compliment me and ask me what diet I was on, the next they would shove cinnamon buns in front of me.
I had to be ready mentally for the challenge or I could sabotage myself. Just one cinnamon bun. Its never just one

I never thought of it as a diet or weighed myself. Both of those I think also sabotage you. I thought of it as eating healthier. I didn't want to have health concerns due to my poor eating habits. Too many things I want to do in life.

I also think amount you weigh is just a number (just like age is a number). I know people who weigh far more than they look like they do but they are muscular. Muscle weighs more than fat.
I went by how my clothes fit. When a convrsation gets around to how much we weigh, nobody believes I weigh the amount the scale reads.
Society has to get away from the importance of classing people by numbers in some cases. Age, weight, income, the amount of chickens we own

I think I am going to try to break down my eating into tiny snack through out the day, rather then 3 meals... its getting difficult for me.

I am not sure I could do that as I would end up grassing all day long. I am finding it easier to have meals with everyone else - But I find their endless coffee stops challenging. I really need to find a way of getting them to understand how important this is for me.

3 meals is the worst way to eat for most people. 3 smaller meals plus 2 or 3 snacks are better. Protein with every meal/snack helps. Keep that blood sugar balanced.

Hope it helps!

Oesdog Have a wonderful time with your dear man. Try to put all your worries aside for now and just enjoy being unencumbered, foot loose, & empty headed!! The last one is the hardest for me, but do try to relax.

6lb week one

3 lb week two

1/2lb week three

No movement so far this week.

But i have stuck to my diet, to the letter.

I work out 3 time a week.

No beer in nearly 4 weeks.

Still it all seems to have come to a halt.

What should i do ?

Help guys I don't know what to do.

I've avoiding posting in this thread for the most part because I'm actually underweight and it makes me feel bad to say I need to gain, but it's gotten bad. This latest bout of illness has told me that. I've been getting comments in public, too, from strangers. Snide ones. Horrible ones. I eat, or I try to eat, I do. I don't know what to do.

My husband is worried and is thinking about buying me calorie shakes for bodybuilders. I'm not against this.

The thing is, I don't want to eat unhealthy to gain weight, y'know? Last thing I need is to pack it on just to get a heart attack. Yesterday I had buckwheat pancakes and blackberries for breakfast, peaches and plums and bananas for lunch, and a big ol' shephards pie for dinner (with salad and 1/2 a roll) - snacking on bits of roast beef, salad, carrots and muesli throughout the day. So I eat enough?? Or I think I do?

Should I just try to eat more, or should I try to add some more fats to my diet? Anybody?

Your body needs more good fats and protein. You also need to have your thyroid checked. Hyperthyroidism (too much) can cause undesired weight loss. Have some protein (cheese or nuts or something) with that fruit for lunch. Calorie shakes aren't a bad idea, but watch that they don't contain aspartame or some other crap.

Being underweight is just as unhealthy as being overweight. Welcome!

Plateaus happen. It's pretty common for people to lose a fair bit at first and then plateau. Take a look at how much you're eating. You may need to change it a bit. Also, 3 times a week is a good start but you should really look at adding a bit, especially if you're plateauing.

What's your workout like?
