Maybe read a book you wouldn't normally read. I like to find books that are interesting, but scary/repulsive/weird/different and read those so I can learn more about random stuff. Like - I got a book on the history of the toothpick! Doesn't sound fascinating but did you know a golden toothpick around your neck used to be the HEIGHT of fashion for the rich?

Mmmm I had cheese last night! :3

2 more days until my weigh in *crosses fingers* if I haven't gained anything by then, it's doctor time.

Oesdog, hope your holiday was wonderful, welcome back.

The whipped cream on the top of the cake is at least 1 1/2 inches thick with 3/4 of an inch on the sides, and the tres leches are pooled around the cake. It looks so good.

At least one friend will stop by because she shares a b'day with the kiddo.

The buffet is a mixed Chinese/Japanese/Korean place that the kids love, and the hubby and I are tired of. They had switched up the menu so the birthday boy got all the seafood he wanted: shrimp tempura, peel and eat shrimp, mock crab, hot and spicy crawfish, baked salmon, sushi, mussels, calamari and maybe even octopus. He also had some mixed seafood thing on a scallop shell that was all creamy and good. He didn't eat one thing that could be called a fruit or a vegetable.

Goodeggs, maybe somebody can pick you up videos of a favorite old TV program or something. It is so miserable when you are sick and you don't have the energy to do anything but you are bored. Hope you feel better soon. Just remember, coughing burns calories.

I may watch some old dvd's. I think there is some Mr.Ed somewhere.

I am trying to read what all of you wrote but I have not had much chance today. Sorry I am having to catch up with a deal of stuff that should have been done while I was away.
OK - The Holiday
Well I am terrified of flying so first off if it wasnt; for DH I would never go outside of my back yard so I have to thank him for encouraging me to "be frightend but DO IT ANYHOW!" I never cease to wonder at folk who complain about tall biuldings or ladders and then get on a plane ?????? I certainly cannot figure how the darn plane stays up in the air??? Hate Take offs but once I am up I kind of am committed so I try to relax and hope I walk away from a good landing! Which happened cause I am still here writting this.

Having reached Spain we were taken to the car hire and got our car which according to DH was gutless but would do! I was just relieved I didn;t have to drive on the wrong side of the road. We found the Hotel. It wasn;t anything fancy but was right on the beach and we had a great view of the sea from our window. The place was basic but clean and the staff were friendly. It had a pool but I didn;t use it. - I didn;t want to be mistaken for a whale! I truely do feel I am far too Fat to be seen publicaly in my bathing suit just yet. DH and I were able to relax and explore. We walked a lot as not having Danny meant we got the chance to do that for a change. We walked miles up the beach and down and round the little town. We found a lovely cafe to have some decent Tea and coffee in as that was one thing the Hotel didn;t have. I need my nice Coffee and DH lovels a good cup of tea. DH and I spent a deal of time reading and resting. DH would tire quite a lot so we paced ourselves. WE went out in the car and drove up into the Mountains which were beautiful and on another day we went and saw Marbella - which had a lovely seafront prominade and lots of places to have coffee

We found a shop that sold Spanish Dolls and bought a lovely pink flamenco dancer made of china. We got it for Jessica. Our DD has a few "look at" Dolls from different places round the world we've been to that she will put aside for Jessica to for a collection. We went to Gibraltar one day and really enjoyed trailing round the old town part. DH was a soldier stationed there over 30 yrs ago - its all changed but it was good to go there. We visited the museum and went up the cable car to the top of the rock to see the Monkeys. It was a wonderful view from the top. We were a bit sad though that its got so biult up and little is left of its history. Though the Moor village still exists.

Food was fine in the Hotel and there was plenty of choice. There was a lot of fish which I enjoy but one morning I woke up feeling very very ill and was violently sick so I wouldn;t recomend the shell fish. One of the other residence also was ill after eating them to. I felt I was quite good and opted for the none fat foods. I ate a lot of fish and salad. Though I did eat quite a bit of pudding rice!!! I kept to yogurts etc for breakfast though there was a lot of very sweet stuff on the go. DH tried very hard to be good.

I enjoyed the time away though I was very glad to get home again and check my chickens and see Danny and Jessica! Funny how things look a lot different after you have been away for a bit. I really do appreciate what I have and the privacy and quiet of the place we live in. I found the Hotel quite noisy and busy and I like solitude and quiet. Mainland Spain is far too loud for me - I prefer the Islands and I loved my time in Fuertaventura a great deal a few years ago. But I also enjoyed exploring and going back to Gibralta with DH.

So thats about it really - just glad to get back. Which probably means the rest did me loads of good

I am looking foward to Saterday to see if I brought less of me home!!!!! DH went up 4 lbs!

It sounds wonderful. And yet, is is always good to get home.

..and if some weight found it's way back tomorrow, don't worry. easy on, easy off. you were on vacation.
We do not beat ourselves up here. It is my unofficial rule. okay?

speaking of...rules and all, where did Nupine go? she started this and we ran off without her?

So true... no beating on ourselves!!! Long as we keep moving forward... its ok to stumble a bit. You've made MAJOR progress, so don't let 1 or 2 tiny setbacks hold you back. Its those setbacks that make us stronger, and even more grateful when we succeed. Plus, you'll be more able to maintain later on because you didn't collapse under any of your boo boos.

Biggest sign of your success... you keep coming back here... which means you still want to do this and haven't quit!!!!!!!
