Anyone setting eggs May 1st?

WOWOWZa... he is a handsome one! Gives me hope my roo will accept my new little chicks. What breed is he?

Cheers to everyone for all the new chicks! So wonderful.. I am enjoying all the stories and the pictures. Love the little chicks under the broody, so pretty.

I decided to unplug the Brinsea,, as there was no action on the last two eggs. I opened the eggs and found two little perfectly formed chicks that had obviously died right after lockdown, neither of their yolks absorbed. Now to go to work as to perhaps reading what could have gone wrong. I am happy I had 4 out of 7 shipped eggs from all displaced air cells. I will look at that as a success!

Joyfulkeeper,,, someone else said it best.... all this chicken talk pales in comparison to having your son safe and sound on our home soil. Blessings and humble gratitude from my family to yours. Godspeed, and I hope he is home in your arms soon.

LOL Thanks Melabella. But his looks have taken a beating with our winters. He's a new Hampshire with Comb and Wattle dubbing done with frostbite in his first winter. No issues in subsequent winters...thank goodness. He remains our big baby though.

Joyful thank you for all your family's sacrifices having your loved one abroad. Our many thanks and wishes for safe return.

And here's number 2 . She zipped so fast. Beautiful strong chick already trying to use its legs. We are in awe...

I missed this! I'm so glad they both hatched for you!!

Here's our baby!

Well the last one hatched during the night.

Out of 16 eggs I got 15 babies. The only one that was lost was one under my silkie (got crushed at some point).

Now what??? I wasn't expecting to be this successful! Guess it's selling some :)

Can't wait till Thursday, I have some French black copper marans hatching and one buff brahma (only egg I saw that I was sure laid by her). I don't know for sure whats in them, since their so dark, but I for sure seen movement in a few. The buff brahma is always moving every time I candle it, he's real easy to see.
