Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

Day 19 as well, and I swear as I listened by my incubator this morning I heard a little "tap tap tap tap" of a chick going to work.
Those darn silkies, such early birds

Well, I am day 19 too and heard the tap tapping awhile ago and....just heard peeping!!!!! Silkies are early birds!

so the little one is still alive, and another egg is rocking , peeping but not pipping yet... the poor little one wants to sleep but he/she keeps peeping at the other egg.. how long do I wait for the egg to pip? hate to interfer but dont want to lose this chick..

:D WooHoo!!....Its a BOY!!!!

I got a my 1st hatching at 7pm....a day early (really only 13 hours early...lol)
Got 3 that pipped at 12 noon....waitin on them...& the rest hopefully over the next few days!!

You must wait. If you pip for it, and break a blood vessel, the chick will almost certainly die. When are they due? I give them 2 days past due date. Keep humidity up, keep lid down, and just keep peeking in the window. Hatch day is very stressfull for the hatchee, and it must work at its own pace. I'm an experienced "full service hatch" lady, and I am always very reluctant to assist.

Have you candled to see if there is an internal pip yet?

Brookhaven
Barred Rocks? So CUTE ,,,cant wait hope i get some chiks tomorrw...One guy pipped one pip and nothing more since 2pm and its 6;45.pm UGH. i shouldnt get discouraged.
Yes Barred Rocks. I wanted egg layers and didn't want to spend too much on my first hatch so at $5/dozen+3 extra it was a steal.

It shouldn't be too long now before it pips. The one that hatched already should help to bring him out with all his peeping. You should never interfere with pipping. There are still some major changes going on inside the egg. The blood vessels are loosing blood and drying out and the chick is taking in the last bit of the yolk before it breaks free.

Question for everyone. I set 15 eggs pretty much knowing that 3 were duds but giving them a chance just in case. When I candled at day 14 the 3 I thought were duds were tossed leaving me with 12 good eggs. Would I count my hatch rate percentage by the 15 I set or the 12 I knew were good?
