Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

I heard a chirp I HEARD A CHIRP!!!!!!!!!

THEY LIVE!!!

I opened the incubator real fast to pour some water in, and when I shut it I heard a CHEEP you guys.

But what does that mean?? There is no pip yet, so how are they making noise?? Or is there a pip that I obviously can't see??
Did I just jeopordize them by opening that bator to pour water in?? Will it shrink wrap them??

Some people wait until the first pip before they add water to raise the humidity. I think you are fine

That just means that they have internally pipped (gotten through the air cell, but not the shell yet). It's exiting isn't it? My sister thought I was crazy when i kept coming inside and saying stuff like "It's PEEPING" "There's a pip!" "One hatched!" etc.

Sorry for the freak out, but after throwing out so many eggs I really was just hoping for something with these 3 eggs!

It's good to know about the internal pip, I was wondering how it was making sound.
And you're right, I will be going to bed late tonight

Man! I was on my generic ast tablet with terrible touchscreen and composed a huge repy.... and LOST IT because I switched from internet to calculator and then back! GRRRRR!

Thank you for the kind words. I have enjoyed the journey and I see many more in the future...LOL. It really is AWESOME. So awesome that I contacted a local breeder that has true araucanas and will be picking up some eggs on Friday or Saturday. I can see that I will be very busy in the next few weeks building another coop and another brooder or two.
