Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

Ok, this might be a stupid question, but is it just me or are those chicks really big? They just seem unnaturally big in that pic for day olds!!

Na, they just look big in comparison to Summer. They may be a touch on the big side, I am not really experienced enough to guage. They are about the same size as the shipped chicks I bought before.

You're probably right, as I have only hatched silkies, those guys look huge!!

As for my hatch, not good. So far just the silkie from this morning.
I opened the bator real fast a couple minutes ago because she was barreling over the eggs, and when I was fixing them I saw no pips.
I'm getting really nervous for them.

Please, give me another chick!!

Hold the chick in your hand, cover the head so it's dark.the chick will begin to relax. Very gently apply pressure to the intestine. Allow the chicks breathing to push against this and attempt to ever so slowly press it back in. Clean and scrub your hands thoroughly before doing this. Relaxation of the chick is essential. It may take some time...very gently you want it to go in exactly as it came out.

It's coming to the end of day 19 and one of my bantam eggs has pipped!! Tell me it's ok if they pip early? How long after pipping do they normally start in earnest? Sooo excited!!

One of my Silkie chicks pipped on day 19 and hatched day 20, so don't worry. My little one is doing just fine.
