Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

Maybe thats true about the day of the week not positive but my last hatch was set on a friday and hatched on a Friday 21 days later.So may be true
I do have a question though. Did you say you set some eggs then some days later set more? Or all at the same time?
if set days apart do you have a second incubator?
Day 18 for chicken eggs the humidity has to go to 75-80 the last 3 days which is too high for the later set eggs.
I ask b/c i didnt think of it right away when i set my second clutch 5 days later in my incubator then had to go buy a second bator.
Sounds like an interesting hatch!Should be very exciting .It does get you addicted though

Since you seem to have hatched before Do you think that a more full incubator helps with more stable readings? I have very few in last 2 times but this time i have over 14 in 2 incubators and the temp and humdity seems a lot more stable than with 6 or around there. Just wonder what others experienced.

I started setting on july 12, have set 6 different orders and waiting for one more..(2 incubators going) 1 with turner and 1 hand turning...so far I have 90 eggs going.

Lordy i thought this was me writing! ..I also have 2 bators going and 4 orders going 2 more coming Im behind you... Mine are 17,19th and 20th so far.
Also one hand turning and one turner.
My first time hand turning Trying to keep the readings all exactly the same to see if the turner does as well as hand turning
I have a question about hatching standing up or laying down. Hope to find out with some hatches both ways if possible at all due to variables
.I only have 36 eggs going now with 24 to come. 5 breeds

I candled the first incubator of eggs which has blue orpington eggs and blue cochin bantams in, these were set july 12, There is also 15 eggs from my ee flock...most are looking good, lots of veins and a few with lots of movement in them.....hard to believe with the temp swings I have been having. (summertime incubating always seems to go this way) of course I use cheap styrofoam incubators which doesn't help. (saving for a dickey incubator, hopefully by next spring).happy hatching to all,

I can only answer by my own experience, yes I have a seperate incubator that is just a hatcher, but I also have in the past locked eggs down 2 days early and they hatched fine, and as far as using a turner, I get better hatches when I hand turn and keep everything on their sides the whole way thru, I only use the turner when I run a second incubator, (hand turning is very time consuming). I see you use 75% humidity, I can not go that high or I get alot of dead in the shell chicks, I keep mine between 60 and 65%. I also dry incubate up untill lockdown I add no water but my house is often humid and the incubator stays wothin 35 to 40%.....It took awhile to find what works for me and everyone seems to do it differently,...Not sure if it makes a difference but my incubators are kept in an unused bedroom and I monitor the room humidty in the summertime when the room gets humid I go to the dollar store and get a container of damprid and set it in the room, it helps me to keep the humidity stable .....addicting YES very, that is how I got started selling chicks to local feed stores, I had to find an outlet for everything I hatch..The feed stores are supplied with a list of breeding stock that I have, when they have a customers that wants specific chicks they let me know and I set the eggs.

My mother in law came over with the first eggs, and after I set them she told me "Oh... and those are duck eggs." Ooops! I didn't realize we were dealing with two different hatch dates- Yikes! It's quite the math mess... but all a learning experience. And now the next bunch (13) will hopefully hatch on the same day as the ducks?? I hope. Just goes to show me that I've got to be organized about this! A friend had suddenly called that a hen of his was dying and he wanted to hatch her eggs (how could I say "No") - this is how I got the 'second' batch of the lucky 13 eggs added. So we shall see... I do have only one bator going. Eeek! :/
QUESTION: I read that the regular everyday humidity should be about 55-60, and then up to 65 on the last three days. It sounds like everyone is using vastly different numbers here. Do you know if one day your humidity is way up and then the next day it's down low... will it all even out or what? Should I try to keep it low instead of high? Just had a very hot and humid day here yesterday. Trying to regulate everything today.

I am in a relatively mild climate in California, but we do have our crazy hot days, and even had a power outage while I was in test mode (luckily) but it was amazing how fast that temp dropped in just an hour.

Oooo! I candled one of the duck eggs -- it's day 9 -- and it was alive and very active.
Yippee!!

In case you want to know I have a digital thermo/hygrometer at the same level at the eggs.
It has been reading 99-102 with a goal of 100.
Humidity has been in the 50's with yesterday a very high day of 60's.
I'll try to keep it a little lower until we get to hatching time.

These 23 eggs are in a still air styrofoam bator - hand turned 5 times a day.

SO excited!! This is my first try at hatching ever.

Today is day 4 for me, and so I candled all of my 12 silkie eggs!

Unfortunately, I only saw 1 with veins. Great.

They were all pretty porous, so maybe there is something going on in there that I just don't see.
Either way, it was a little discouraging.

well... ya'll have done made me go blow the dust off my desktop so I could type all this stuff quicker than using the tablet.
I can only tell you all about my experiences hatching, but I've read several questions asked on this thread so I'm gonna do my best to answer everything that I feel went unsettled.
At first I had several chicks that made it to the end then drowned in the shell after the internal pip... my humidity was too high. I was keeping a 40% minimum and locking down at 70% or higher.
I started incubating with no water until lock down, and then only raising the humidity to 50-60%. I got much better results with that, and most that I deemed worthy on day 18 hatched.
For the question about the fullness of the bator... I have close to a four dozen egg capacity, but I get my best results with only setting 2 dozen eggs and leaving space at the "business end" of my incubator, and I keep all the eggs I'm setting in the middle of the bator.
And for the folks that are candling at 4 days, in my opinion, you are interrupting that most important first week with extra handling and turning/rolling the eggs while the developing embryo is at it's most vulnerable time. For this reason, I am not going to candle my eggs until the 10th day. I hope for much better results with doing that.
For the person that has the ducks set the same day as the chickens, I did the same thing once with 4 turkey eggs. I set them with a bunch of chickens all on the same day. When I locked down the chickens the turkeys were early. Out of the four turkeys I had set, only one hatched, and I had to band aid it's feet because they were deformed and he started off badly because of my impatience.
