Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

The weigh they say is the VERY  best but i have also read the air cell is the most important as the chick has to have room to breath but  not  dry up  but not drowned either. so the practical side.I do have a questionYou are SURE they are 20 % at this time and its the wrong %?
Also i tried "dry" last hatch and thought i did  it well 22-35% anfd then 65% .My room humidity was also 50%.I shrink wrapped the few viable  eggs  I had according to the Hovabator trouble shooter. One pipped but never hatched the other 2 nothing. but were full grown in the eggs day 18. The temp stayed pretty perfect so had to be humidity
i have heard  dry hatdh works  REALLY well for a lot of ppl but didnt for me at all.
Now i am doing 40-50 this time. Will see how works!!.  GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!
Thanks. i am sure my weight loss % calculation was correct. One egg started out at 2.6 ounces and was only 2.1 ounces after 7 days. That is a .5 ounce weight loss. 20% of 2.6 ounces is .52 ounces. So it was not exactly 20%, but 19.2%. :/

On temperature, my Brinsea manual say to have the temperature set at 99.5 degrees. But I just read a paper on their website on the effect of periodic cooling during incubation and it says the optimum temperature is 100.4 degrees for hens (understood to mean chicken eggs). I am so confused.

32C=89ishF

36C is actually 97ish degrees F so that wasnt too bad for my lock down eggs... however we just had a thunderstorm and my light bulb next To the thermostat blew out... I checked and it was at 42 degrees C which Is 108 degrees F... I have 2 bulbs that go on and off ...but The second bulb just stayed on And now i think i cooked the eggs... this is becoming a tragedy...

that was about 1-2 hours of duration... I candled and 1 egg I saw movement Still...

I have to just wait and see Now... I only have 3 eggs left....on This hatch..

I have another Set Of Eggs going into lockdown on the 3rd...

Well, this has been a great Thread And i do hope To See some chickies soon..

I ordered my silkie bantam mix eggs when my hen went broody but by the time I got them she had stopped and would not sit on them. So I had to think quick I took a thirty gallon fish tank and put just enough hot water to cover the bottom and I took a cookie cooling rack and placed it inside and put my eggs on it then I hooked up my red chick warming light and put aluminum foil all around the top to keep in heat and moisture in. Its been 11 days now and so far they are doing good. I cross my fingers that my little babies hatch. I have always wanted silkies. I started out with 8 eggs and my hen trampled 4 of them I saved four so I hope I hope I hope they all make it

HI
very late to this conversation I see but I set mine on the 16th. This is my second hatch. Only three eggs viable and good from a hen I recently lost so really hoping for them to hatch. They are Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and I only have my rooster of that kind left so.....fingers crossed.
I too lost a bit too much weight upon weighing at around day 7/8 like Urban Mama - raised humidity but all looks OK as far as air cell and veins and movement.
Good luck on your 3 eggs.!! Glad to have you. I set some BBS on the 17th so we will be pretty close on hatch day!

I raised the humidity to about 50%. The air cells certainly look bigger than before i started, but I don't really know if it is the right size for the incubation period. As I read that weight is the most reliable measure, I weighed the eggs before I set them. I incubated dry because the ambient room temperature is about 50% so I thought that was enough. I guess the heat in the incubator dries the air more than expected. I am keeping my fingers crossed that these eggs are still viable.
Reread your reply and wanted to say ithink 50 wqould be [plenty now .I wouldnt raise the humidity over 50 at this point, Dont want to drowned them. See how they are in a day or so.

I would go with 99.5 i think as my incubators often go to 100 and dont stay at 99.5 all the time.
To me between 99 and 100 is good. I think not over the 100.4 My Genesis is automatically set at 100 but it is usually 99.5-100 However if i see it goes to 100.1 i usally open the vent plug for a while or lift the lid for a second to bring it down a little. Dont know if i need to at that point but i do it anyway.. ity is confusing. But most ppl i read here seem to have the best hatchs at 99.5-100

GUG 108 doesnt sound good but someone i spoke to said they had some go to 104 and some hatched anyway. Need some luck but not impossible. Maybe their interior temp didnt get s high as that.
