I am worried about the high humidity in Maine...my bator is dry but the air humidity has been running at high 50s and 60s since day 1. Is there anything you can do to help that lower without a room dehumidifier? Thanks! Keeping my fingers crossed as we are on day 14 and I don't want these chickies to drown![]()
Do you have a hygrometer in your incubator? I have all of my vents in the room closed, as well as a heat lamp on my little chicks [it is sticky hot in the chicken room] but my incubator is still running at 30-40% humidity.
Though, all the books I read the information on how high the humidity should be for the first 17 days varies wildly from 30%-60%. I don't think that 50-60% humidity is too high for the growth period, especially if it's the humidity in the room.
They do sell the moisture pads at walmart though, a little tub that has a bag of some magical concoction inside of it, it absorbs moisture...it's only 7$, maybe you can try that?
