Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

You may need to moisten the intestine abit, use bottle water -very clean there.

the hole it came out of is to small to push back in i just tried and it wont go back in

Yes, its and external herniation...very serious. The abdominal wall is a muscle that contracts around that hole and makes it tight and smaller...it can stretch but getting the chick to relax that much will be next to impossible.

you may try reclining the chick on it's back with the head slightly elevated and feet up, legs bent, see if it begins to relax.

i did that it calmed down but it can't stand well now it falls over when i set it down it trys to come over to me but i still can't get it back in

Farmerboy, it's like trying to put an earthworm back in the ground...quite difficult. Need constant pressure and sort of pushing and massaging it back in, I would use three fingers with he middle fingers guiding the intestine...it won't happen quickly. But constant steady pressure.

If it doesn't go back in the chick will die..a slow painful death...you must reduce the hernia...it can take awhile. Keep te chick relaxed and persistently press it back in. Good luck
