Heee! This morning I have chicks! I have a cabinet incubator full of barnyard mutts, I'm excited to see what kind of oddball birds come out of my poultry buddy's mix! She has EEs, turkens, silkies, cochins, barred rocks, leghorns, random chickens ... should be amusing! First thing this morning I checked, and the first little black chick had nudged off the top of his shell, and was sitting contentedly in the rest of his egg, looking around at the world wondering "Where the heck IS everyone?!" Now I have 3, all black with puffy feet, and 9 pips that I can see! This it out of about 80 eggs. Should be a very exciting day!

raimnel: i set on wed pm 10th and they hatched midnight end of 30th eggs taken from a bantam frizzle roo and a bow tie-d hen, so i was hoping for a frizzle naked neck out of it, the birds live on my farm 1 hour from home, so i dont get to collect eggs each day, and we've had some pretty hot days early march. i think this is part of the reason for the low hatch rate (2 out of 20 eggs)

Congratulations Julie!

Stumble: yay on the pip!

Nothing new here this morning (day 20), just more rocking...

Congrats Julie! 80 eggs, wow! You're not going to get a thing done today!

Stumble.....Don't forget, we want duckling pics! Congrats!

Congrats to all! How exciting.

Wow, 80 eggs. Thats alot!!!

Ive got nothing going on here. STILL cant get my temp to come back up. I dont want to mess with it to much and have it spike (would rather it stay low).

Ive got to take my MIL to an eye appt today, in the next larger town...50 mls away.
So I wont be here to check temps all day.

Good luck everyone. Want pics!!

Not much change for me. I have two pips and lots of rocking. My temps raised sometime in the night to 103 and I have no idea how long they were like that. I have it back down to 101.8 now.
Congrats on all the chicks

Julie, that's a LOT of eggs!!! Good luck!!!

Nothing new for us this morning. Still just the one pip we discovered last night. Hoping for much more activity today!!

Tamara
