As for lockdown I was thinking I would up humidity on day 18 first thing in the morning, fiddle as necessary all day and take the egg turner out and go into official lockdown before I go to bed. No idea if the humidity will need fiddling with.

So you know I ordered a dozen cayuga duck eggs? They should've arrived saturday...and didn't. So, in my disappointment and frustration, I growled at everyone all day and thought for sure they'd come today...this afternoon all I got was a 'we were unable to deliver' on the tracking info and yet there was no notice in my mailbox and I had been home all day. So I drove 25 miles to the post office and

at them and finally have them here but they are now well over a week old, spent a weekend+ flat, and did multiple unnecessary bumpy car rides. I've heard ducks are harder to hatch to start with so am not holding out much hope with all these other problems, but they will go in bator #2 tomorrow with 6 of my own Pekin duck's eggs (though I've no idea if they've started mating - never caught them in the act)
- candling will be stressful on this batch.
