I think I am going to do that to. I havent deicded of I should return it to TSC or just keep it to move the just hatched chicks over. We will see. Depends on how angry I am with this LG when my hatch is over. When are you going to get your Brinsea? So we can do a hatch together?

so far the feedback i'm getting on the egg i just cracked is scrambled eggs courtesy of the post office...figured as much...everything is rush, rush - there is mail and packages to be delivered, no time to be gentle or careful with such packages...

My solution - buy only on local on pick up terms or get live chicks.

I think i'm going to end this hatch and let you guys continue on...don't figure there's much hope for the marans since they travelled the same route...it was a bumpy ride for all the eggs and to have 11 scrambled and 2 detached egg cells is not a good sign....

it was nice meeting all of y'all....and can't wait to see your hatches!!

Gonna go clean out my bator now so it'll be clean for my quail eggs....

Please don't go....When will your quail eggs arrive? Come back to this thread...You wull only be a few days behind! I am glad you found out sooner rather than later so you can start a new hatch. What a waste of money.

Was just thinking, I have a hovabator 1602N and I am now concerned with if they hatch, will they burn themselves on the "heat bar" that heats up the unit???

Nope, I have the same one and the chicks are so small they don't hit the top. You should be good to go.

I have still not candled. I messed with my first set a bunch (daily) and only one hatched, so I think that helps me keep my hands off them. Even though I think it was the huge humidity spike during lock down that did it, this time I just don't want to get so attached this early.

I am sure me handling them will affect my hatch rate, but I am really having a tough time....Now they I see movement in a few of them, I think I will be better about not touching them....plus yesterday was a rainy day but today is beautiful so I will be outside more
