Anyone Setting Eggs Tonight 3/31/2011 - Come join me if you like!

I'm soo beyond sad right now...

Just candled. The right flashlight makes all the difference. I got a 180 lumen flashlight and it is wonderful.

My sadness is that I only have 3 developing eggs left. Out of the 7 remaining, 1 was infertile and 3 were quitters. 7-4=3.

I am so bummed right now. What's the point in keeping the bator running for 3 eggs??

The point is, that's still 3 possible chicks. I ran my bator for one remaining egg before! Yeah, it's not the best hatch, but you appreciate those remaining chicks that much more when you see them!

yea you're right...woulda-shoulda-coulda.....at least i got 3 developing nicely...i'm hoping all three hatch and survive....

Crossing my fingers for ya petunias.....

Your fine. Add a little bit of water if you want to bring it to at least 30-35%. I am doing a dry incubation and humidity really only matters on day 18.

I was doing dry as well but the humidity was high for some reason, so should I add water or just leave it till Day 18, which will be Sunday night....

I always said since I couldn't get a direct answer from someone that If mine ever dropped below 30%, I wouls sneak a few tablespoons of water in during candling. Since it has been warm and raining here. The humidity in my house right now is almost 70% so the humidity in my incubator is up to 55% with no water at all.
