I took my heart in my hands and did it, I helped the little pip that had been that way sence 10 AM Thurday I waited 24 hrs and nothing had happened so I did research on BYC and found out what to do. took the egg out wraped in warm washcloth and listened it was peeping and sticking its beak out but the membrane was so dry it had passed dry, white to yellow and stiff so I gave it a go, only went 3/4 way around shell only, left the membrane Alone, except for moisture, wraped in warm wet paper towel and put it back . then the hard part - I went to work for 3 hrs. Guess what when I got home it had
hatched
it's lying there getting dried out but has been up and around the bator twice. I let him push his own way out so his hips would be in position and he is walking. now I have 4 other pips hope they do well on their own.. Whew!
I so happy for everyone that we are finally seeing some babies!!!
