Anyone stopped eating chicken after raising chicken?

Hi guys! I love this forum and can't get enough of it!! I am a very first time chicken owner and I have four very dramatic and cute 2.5 week old ISA browns pullets. I did not get the chicks for meat or egg purpose... just simply saw them at Tractor Supply and thought they were cute.

After having had them for almost two weeks, I just find them so incredibly cute that I'm thinking about stop eating chicken.... has it happened to you? I had a friend that raised a pig, became so attached to the pig and stopped eating pork.

Sorry- this is not meant to start a debate on vegetarianism or anything. Just a random tought- hence the random rambling forum ha.

No. I wouldn't eat family per se (unless they're a-hole roosters), but we definitely still have chicken and pork on a regular basis.

I have thought about being vegetarian after getting chickens but then I thought of fried chicken and the idea of never eating it again went out the window and never to be heard of again

I always eat chicken, I even get the sliced chicken to stop me snacking on rubbish. The only thing I won’t do, is eat chicken in front of my chickens

You're missing out on a golden opportunity. Have a drumstick in front of them as a warning to them so they understand what happens if they get out of line.

I think it's great that you realize where your food comes from and that it affects your behavior. I think a lot of people don't really get where their food comes from. Like they know, but they don't really think about it.

I wish I could stop eating chicken altogether....not only because I have chickens, but because where most chicken meat comes from. I can't avoid it when it's cooked into a dinner at home, but I have stopped getting Chicken McNuggets and chicken sandwhiches at McDonald's.

I have thought about chicken farms and how some of the food in stores are from animals who lived horrible sad lives

Both me and my chickens eat chicken. Its creepy how much they like it.
