podunk... I mean Wabash, IN
I have a 6 wk old Swedish, Daisy, who is developing angel wing on one side. She's is developmentally "slow" and seems to have some nerological problems. She is still a bit shaky on her feet and has occassional spasms (had one really bad seziure at 3-4wks old and I thought she was gone .) She has been doing much better since she's been outside but does not forage much & refuses any type of snack including the all time favorite PEAS. I have the ducks on Purenia Flock Raiser. She will drink water but only recently decided that dipping her head in the water was O.K. She won't swim and doesn't like standing in water.

I tried using vet tape and taping her but that was a bust. After her squirming, honking and squeeling as if I was murdering her and the tape getting all twisted and snarled up..... I gave up. I started thinking that a "body stocking" that was lightweight yet stretchy might do the trick. Just slip it over her head, be sure its snug enough ,etc. & would hold down her wing. What'cha all think? Doable?

As I mentioned on another post this week a ladies nylon stocking works well if you select the right area of the stocking so it isn't too tight or loose.

Sound's like a good idea to me (can you say patent?) if this is a small animal... maybe just use a good stretchy sock that is almost too small to fit.... and seeing as how it's only one wing you could possibly cut a hole in the toe for the head and neck and then carefully cut a hole for her other wing to be exposed. Just a thought. You could also do a quick sew at the ankle of the sock run a string or some elastic (even a rubber band) to keep the ankle of the sock from getting too nasty. Just tossing out ideas.

I have no experience but the theory sounds good.

and btw, I will have "Physical" by Olivia Newtown John playing in my head for the rest of the day.

Thanks, goosedragon. I had thought of that also but wasn't sure if a nylon stocking would hold up. Since I do have more "old hose" I will try that out first.

Mrs. Green Thumbs - TKS! some good ideas. I'm hoping to get Daisy into her stocking this eve. I'll start with the hoisery (being light weight and all) and work fm there. Daisy seems to overheat easily, moreso than the rest of the duckies & that may be due to the fact that she doesn't cool off in the water tub or sits in the sun to long so the lighter weight the stocking the better.
