Anyone up for a Hatchalong?

Pics
After all the hurry up and wait and worry I have listed my little hatchling on Craigslist. I have the two almost year old boys and I really just wanted a girl or two. So now I have the two girls and I think two pair is the way to go. little Elvis is adorable but seems to be the odd man out. Plus I think five may be getting on over my head, as if four isn't. But as my vet says, they are golden if you can get them to the first year but getting them there is the problem. I am keeping both girls no matter what but not the third boy. I listed him for sale today but so far no takers. I'll miss him because I hatched him but I have to do what makes sense and I have room and shelters for.

Sounds great! We have some incubating & first ones due mid March. These are our firsts! We are Emu newbies, and I'm soooo excited!!! And sure I will need lots of advice!

sherriff......man if I lived closer I'd take the little fella off your hands. Darn. I agree too, Emu's are probably THE BEST animal to watch, and raise..they are just so much fun.

Day 31, I spotted movement in Egg B while I was looking in the window to check the temperature and water.

Well, looks like my first egg isn't going to hatch, it is on Day 51, and I never saw any movement. The second is on Day 45, but I'm not seeing any movement in it either. :/ we did have a short power outage about 2 weeks ago, I'm hoping that didn't kill them if they where growing. I am going to take the first to moms work (animal hosptial) and xray to see if we can see inside before we open it. Any tips on drilling a hole in the bottom to save the shell? I've haven't done it before, and would like to try.

My friend did pick up 4 eggs yesterday at the Newnan show for me, I hope one of these hatches. :D I didn't weigh my last 2, so I am going to weigh these. Mom said she doesn't mind if I hatch them, as long as I don't keep them. :( oh, well, I'll just have to wait until I get my own place to have some. My friend that got the eggs might take a chick, they played with the one Pidgey brought to the show, and her BF really liked it.

IT could still hatch passed Day 51. My neighbor had some later than that and he had to help them out of the shell. Two had unhatched chicks that are doing fine now. One other one died a couple of days later. But he saved 2 out of 3.

It there a way to see if there are chicks in them? I watch them, and they don't wiggle at all. Would a float test work? I haven't tried it before.
Do you think the xray would kill the chick if it was alive? Mom doesn't think it will.
