Congrats Yinepu! How many have hatched so far. I can't keep up. Imagine this thread three years from now when all or emus are mating and laying! Yikes.

this makes 9..
I have 4 eggs left in the bator.. but I suspect at least one of those are bad

lol.. I should add I have ended up with your curse of the male emus.. the results I have back so far tell me I have boys!... can't wait til I get all the results back.. hopefully I have a few girls in there!

12 more days until the wiggle test!! The temp in my Sportsman is 96.5. Is that ok?

yup.. Janice Castleberry recommends 95.5.. so your temps are still in the safe range for incubation.. just remember it may take them a few more days to hatch though since your temps are a smidge lower that the 97.5 (50 days)

After my unfortunate stinky Earl... the egg that got blown...

THING-2 Wiggled! Yay! So, I definitely have at least one fertile egg. And, I'm sure it wiggled this time. Both me and dh saw it wiggle twice. I think it was on day 31 and still no action from Thing-1 but still early yet.

well.. if you decide to keep them and blow them out TAKE THEM OUTSIDE to do it.. remember.. if they stink that much in the bator your house WILL stink if you try blowing them all out in the house

I take mine outside to blow them out.. only bring them back inside to wash them

the year old eggs should be dried up inside.. at least any eggs I have let sit for that long end up drying up and some even rattle when I shake them
the 100 day old eggs are liable to blow up when you drill a hole.. which is another reason to take them outside.. remember to wear old clothes when handling those stink bombs.. just in case they do blow up on you
the 51 day olds shouldn't be as bad.. but then again it depends on how long they were stinking.. if they just started to smell they should be fine.. but if they have been stinking for weeks you can be sure that there is some pressure buildup from the gasses.. so use caution

I have a strong stomach.. so I can clean out even the smelliest eggs.. not everyone can handle the smell though

you could try placing them inside a ziplock bag while drilling the hole.. just in case they do explode .. at least a plastic bag should help contain the mess if they do explode

I dis just a small hole so he can breath, I was anxious! OMG I dont want this to harm him, or him to suffocate, gosh !! he is loud now!!! and he breathes I can clearly hear hin breathing trought the hole I dis, dis I did it right!!!??? I didnt saw your reply first Raptor

still havent pipon his own, day 51 today, what should I do,please hellp, he is breathing and I can hear him moving and his peeps but cannot breack the shell, now from the hole I made has passed 24 hours HELLLLPPPPPPP
