Anyone use expanded metal for the coop floor?

We are making our chicken coop on an old 4'x8' trailer, we were thinking that if we have a grated floor, the poop will just fall through and we can keep moving the coop to fertilize our pasture. Has anyone done this successfully? We plan to build flaps to go around the bottom of the house to keep out drafts. The size of the holes would be about 3/4".

Here is an example of the stuff I am talking about.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Thank you!

We are putting 3/4" extruded metal down as the floor and you just lay it upside down so that the smooth side is up towards the chickens. It's strong enough that if you don't like it you could put mats over the top of it if needed. A wire scraper can knock down any buildup and we really want to get away from bedding as an extra cost and it can be unhealthy if the poop is next to the chicken..

I have used 1/2 inch by 1 inch welded wire. As the floor of a small 4ft. X 8ft chicken tractor type coop I built. It worked fine. I had to scrape the area under the roost every now and then. I would think expanded metal would catch more waste material. You might have to spray it off. Instead of just scraping.
